Visualising Issues in Pharmacy [VIP]

This gallery shows the progress from initial ideas right through to the final works from Team Indus. The task was to develop an educational 'kit'. Initially we looked at Malaria, Tuberculosis and thought also of HIV and other STIs. In the end because of time constraints we focussed on designing a set of flashcards for Malaria prevention and treatment.

The cards have a simple illustration on one side and a question and suggested answers on the back. The idea is that this is combined with a game board that is made from a headscarf, so that it can be both worn and played anywhere, and that the children throw a stone or another object onto the board to choose the number of the flashcard that they are going to be asked the question of. Through this process they then learn about Malaria and their carers can also learn through this collaboration.

These are a selection of designs for soccer shirts/shorts and a ball for use by the community of Winam - in particular to carry the message about prevention of sexually transmitted diseases.

This gallery is the result of Brief 3 from the gathering stage of Omnium's 5 stage process for online collaborative creativity and shows some examples from individuals in each Design Team for proposals for consideration for public awareness campaigns for the six Assigned Health Issues (AHI's) being worked on throughout this VIP Creative Waves project.

This is a gallery of photographic images taken by the design participants at exactly the same moment in time on Sunday May 13th, 2007. It acts as a socialisation exercise and the start of the next 7 weeks as we all begin to Visualise issues in Pharmacy.

He is currently living in Kisumu, Kenya, and is the Nabuur local representative for the community of Winam. He is the Team Leader of HelpHeal project based in Winam community, serving in giving hope to abandoned patients.
